PIZZICATO FIVE - VOYAGE A TOKYO CDEP (READYMADE RECORDS [COCA-50384], 2000) [JP]

Pizzicato Five - Voyage À Tokyo CDEP
(Readymade Records – [COCA-50384], 2000) [JP]

A CDEP from seminal Japanese shibuyak-kei group Pizzicato Five from the year 2000 on their own Readymade Records. This is well into their career by '00, but I love this title track. The hip-hop influence and the record scratching.

MR. OIZO - FLAT BEAT 12" (F COMMUNICATIONS [F 104], 1999) [FRA]

Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat 12"
(F Communications – [F 104], 1999) [FRA]

I don't know much about this artist / song, but I read that it got popular through a late 90s/early 00s Levi's television commercial. The artist behind the hit commercial song is really awesome and interesting, Mr. Oizo [Quentin Dupieux]. The B-Sides really shine here for me -- but the commercial track is amazing as well.

(S.T.S. – [S.T.S.2], 1988) [ENG]

The first release by Essex, England indie pop group The Windmills. Released in 1988. I first heard the title track on a cassette tape compilation and I had to seek out the proper single released!

Taluluah Gosh - Steaming Train / Just A Dream 7"
(53rd & 3rd – [AGARR 5], 1986) [ENG]

The first or second 7" single from Oxford, England indie pop group Talulah Gosh -- Released as just a two song single, before the first two releases were combined into a combination four song single presumably the same year. Got a fast noise-pop song on the A-Side, and a sweet softer song on the B-Side. The two phases of noise pop!
