THE NINJAS - IN AND OUT 7" (BLACKBEAN AND PLACENTA TAPE CLUB [ACME65], 1996) [US]

The Ninjas - In And Out / Calling You Out 7"
(Blackbean and Placenta Tape Club [ACME65], 1998?) [US]

I honestly don't know much of this band The Ninjas other than it is an earlier project of Eric Copeland of Black Dice fame. Two simple lo-fi songs here on Blackbean and Placenta Tape Club and the internet seems to be a little unclear as to the year of its' release, I'm gonna go ahead and guess 1998.

URUSEI YATSURA - KEWPIES LIKE WATERMELON CDEP (CHÉ TRADING [CHÉ 53CD], 1996) [UK]

Urusei Yatsura - Kewpies Like Watermelon CDEP
(Ché Trading [CHÉ 53CD], 1996) [UK]

Urusei Yatsura were a lo-fi indie pop Glaswegian band that are named after a famous Japanese manga/anime, which can be confusing for some, it sure was for me. Pretty much one of those bands that I came upon way too late (it's not too late for you!) and I love all of their material now. I had this 7" at one point, but those owners are missing out on the two extra tracks this CDEP provides which are both excellent - but the last one is just stellar!

HELEN LOVE - MERRY CHRISTMAS (I DON'T WANNA FIGHT) 7" (DAMAGED GOODS [DAMGOOD206], 2001) [WALES]

Helen Love - Merry Christmas (I Don't Wanna Fight) 7"
(Damaged Goods [DAMGOOD206], 2001) [WALES]

Last Christmas theme post for the night! Here's a short and sweet song from Helen Love, a cover of the Ramones' classic "Merry Christmas (I Don't Wanna Fight)" clocking in at a little over two minutes long on this single-sided 7" from London's Damaged Goods. Helen Love is one of the few Welsh bands that I know of (and I wish I knew of more!) being from Swansea. Also, the team that this American has temporarily adopted to support when I follow the EPL, for no other reason than I wanna see the Welsh side win. What's not to love about Helen Love, too.

EGGPLANT - I BELIEVE IN THE LOCH NESS MONSTER 7" (CANDY FLOSS [CF016], 1996) [UK]

Eggplant - I Believe In The Loch Ness Monster 7"
(Candy Floss [CF016], 1996)

Eggplant were a fun, fast, and poppy 3-piece band from the South of London in the mid 90s. They play a sweet form of fast paced, indie pop / twee. I remember finding this in the dollar bin (buying it solely because of the scrawling on the cover) and being blown away that three short songs could be so good and in only under 4 minutes total time! This single-sided 7" is their last, on US-San Fran based label Candy Floss in 1996.

CRASH AND BRITANY - IT IS CHEMISTRY 7" (G&M RECORDING CO., 1996) [US]

Crash and Britany - It Is Chemistry b/w Angel Angle 7"
(G&M Recording Co., 1996) [US]

Crash and Britany were a 3-piece from Sacramento, CA during the early to mid 90s. As far as I know they released a tape, an LP on Monopoly in 1995, this 7", and a couple of compilation tracks. Great female indie pop sound. Another Indie/Emo 7" that I remember really enjoying back in the day.

CLOSER - SELF TITLED 7" (GRIMM LAKE [GL 2], ARCADE KAHCA [AK 004], 1996) [US]

Closer - Self Titled 7"
(Grimm Lake [GL 2], Arcade Kahca [AK 004], 1996) [US]

Closer is a pretty mysterious band who I believe are from Kalamazoo, Michigan? I'm uncertain. Also, I believe the side project of at least one member of Ordination of Aaron. This is presumably their only release (recordings?): an unmarked and untitled two song 7" on white vinyl wrapped in aluminum foil and released from two labels; Grimm Lake and Arcade Kahca, in 1996. Pleasant fuzzy and obscured lo-fi recordings.

DISKOTHI-Q - LANE DISCIPLINE 7" (X-MAS RECORDS [X-MAS 009], 1995) [US]

Diskothi-Q - Lane Discipline 7"
(X-Mas Records [X-MAS 009], 1995) [US]

Diskothi-Q were a lo-fi indie rock band from Central California in the early 90s. Member Peter Hughes went on to be in The Mountain Goats. A lot of their earlier releases were on the Sonic Enemy label run by Peter Hughes. They released tapes and singles on Shrimper, Volvolo, Wabana Ore Limited labels respectively, as well as this single here on X-Mas Records. My personal favorite.

THE IMPOSSIBLES - HOW DO YOU DO IT? 12" SINGLE (FONTANA, 1990) [UK]

The Impossibles - How Do You Do It? 12" Single
(Fontana [POSS-112], 1990) [UK]

The Impossibles were Lucy Dallas and Mags Grundy from the UK who released three 12" EPs [How Do You Do It?, Delphis, The Drum] on the Fontana Label. The final three tracks were produced partly by Kevin Shields. [The last of which is a cover of Dinosaur Jr.'s Tar Pit]

TEST     TEST     TEST     TEST      TEST

Hi to all. I'm going to post random and mostly forgotten musical recordings from no specific era and of no specific genre or origin (but most likely pop and from the 60s-90s in some way). Just random scraps and rubbish I have collected here on the interweb over the years from various sources such as blogs, p2p clients, torrents, etc. Sharing what has been shared with me. Strictly for listening pleasure and personal use only !! All credits go to the original artists and the original rippers. I'm not going to worry too much about making this look any kind of fancy. I will try to upload the best quality that has been made available to me (at times this may vary, as well as be various file formats, but mostly be mp3s). I just want to have an outlet to share. If by chance I post anything in which you would request be removed just email me at nacreluu@gmail.com. If a link were to die and you request it be re-posted, just leave a comment. Thank you and Enjoy!
