EYE PILGRIMS & CHOO CHOO TRAIN - SPLIT 7" FLEXI (WOOSH [WOOSH 010], 1989) [UK]

Eye Pilgrims & Choo Choo Train - Split 7" Flexi
(Woosh [WOOSH 010], 1989) [UK]

Low quality sounding flexi, which is unfortunate, I still like the noisy mess that is the Eye Pilgrims song -- some how it goes well with the flexi format. Choo Choo Train (one of the worst band names around haha) is Paul Chastain and Ric Menck pre-Velvet Crush. With Woosh fanzine, 1989.

THE SUMMER HITS - GROOVIER DRUGS 7" (SMALL-FI [SMALL-FI #3], 1994) [US]

The Summer Hits - Groovier Drugs 7"
(Small-Fi [small-fi #3], 1994) [US]

FRANÇOISE HARDY - EN ANGLAIS 7" (DISQUES VOGUE [EPL. 8207], 1964) [FR]

Françoise Hardy - En Anglais 7"
(Disques Vogue [EPL. 8207], 1964) [FR]

An early Françoise Hardy 7" on French label Disques Vogue from 1964. Four songs sung here in English and I love them all except the first one, honestly, it's just too much of a nursery rhyme to me. I'm more interested in the English versions of her own songs.

CATHERINE SPAAK - QUESTI VENT'ANNI MIEI 7" (RICORDI [SRL 10-340], 1964) [IT]

Catherine Spaak - Questi Vent'Anni Miei 7"
(Ricordi [SRL 10-340], 1964) [IT]

Belgian and French born Catherine Spaak singing here in 1964 in Italian on this Ricordi 7" with two songs from films and music by Ennio Morricone, I believe.

RON RON CLOU - "FIRST ALBUM" CD (K.O.G.A RECORDS [K.O.G.A-006], 1995) [JP]

Ron Ron Clou - First Album CD
(K.O.G.A Records [K.O.G.A-006], 1995) [JP]

"First Album" from Japan's pop-power-punk group Ron Ron Clou on K.O.G.A Records from 1995.  Apparently, the LP version of this album has two more songs than this CD.

RED 40 - DATE AT THE PAYPHONE 7" (LANDMARK RECORDS [31], 1995) [US]

Red 40 - Date At The Payphone 7"
(Landmark Records [#1], 1995) [US]

Little Rock, Arkansas pop punk band Red 40 released only this 7", some compilation tracks, all of which was compiled on to a CD. The singer went on to front the band Lucero, I believe. I remember finding this in the used bin and getting rid of it when I got rid of all of my 7"s at one time. But - now I've come across it again - electronically.

THE SEA URCHINS & THE ORCHIDS - SPLIT 7" FLEXI (SHA LA LA FLEXIS [BA BA BA - BA BA 005], 1987) [UK]

The Sea Urchins & The Orchids - Split 7" Flexi
(Sha La La Flexis [ba ba ba - ba ba 005], 1987) [UK]

A split 7" flexi disc between UK's The Sea Urchins and The Orchids from the label that was the precursor to Sarah Records, I believe.

JAMES DEAN DRIVING EXPERIENCE - SEAN CONNERY 12" (ÉL RECORDS [GPO 45T], 1990) [UK]

James Dean Driving Experience - Sean Connery 12"
(Él Records [GPO 45T], 1990) [UK]

My friend Perry got me this 12" for my birthday a couple of years back from James Dean Driving Experience and it has become one of my favorite records. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. (Silver Screen goddess Gina Lollobrigida on the cover.)

BLACK TAMBOURINE - BY TOMORROW 7" (SLUMBERLAND RECORDS [DRYL 009], 1991) [US]

Black Tambourine - By Tomorrow 7"
(Slumberland Records [DRYL 009], 1991) [US]

Four fantastic drowned out indie pop songs on this 7" from Black Tambourine and Pam Berry on Slumberland Records from 1991.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE - ECSTASY MINI-LP (LAZY RECORDS [LAZY 08], 1987) [IRE]

My Bloody Valentine - Ecstasy Mini-LP
(Lazy Records [LAZY 08], 1987) [UK]

My absolute favorite release from My Bloody Valentine is this 1987 mini-LP on Lazy Records. Yea, you could listen to Ecstasy & Wine, but I minor-ly dislike two of those three songs. Love these songs even more if you peel back the layer of noise to get to the poppy and sappy lyrics.

ACID HOUSE KINGS & THE BARTLEBEES - SPLIT 7" (CORNFLAKE ZOO [ZOO5], ALIÉNOR RECORDS [ALIEN Ε], 1992)

Acid House Kings & The Bartlebees - Split 7"
(Cornflake Zoo [Zoo5], Aliénor Records [Alien ε], 1992)

Nice split 7" between Sweden's Acid House Kings and Germany's The Bartlebees on two labels from France from 1992.

DIE FÜNF FREUNDE - IN DREIẞIG TAGEN UM DIE WELT 7" (MARSH-MARIGOLD [GOLD 08], 1991) [DE]

Die Fünf Freunde - In Dreißig Tagen Um Die Welt 7"
(Marsh-Marigold [GOLD 08], 1991) [DE]

A German band this time, Die Fünf Freunde, with an ode to Audrey Hepburn plus some nice indie pop sung in German. The bands' third single on Marsh-Marigold from 1991.

CROCKETT & JONES - PETER USTINOV 7" (NOET LACHTEN RECORDS [NOET11], ROMAN CABBAGE VINYL [GREY3], 1990) [NED]

Crockett & Jones - Peter Ustinov 7"
(Noet Lachten Records [NOET 11], Roman Cabbage Vinyl [GRAY 3], 1990) [NED]

There is definitely a common theme among some indie pop bands, I've noticed, to make songs dedicated to their favorite silver screen actors or stars, just like this Crockett & Jones single dedicated to Peter Ustinov (that's him there on the cover). This song is great, too good that I usually find myself listening to the sub-two-minute song over and over paying no mind to the other songs (they're good as well, especially the jig). Only release from this Dutch band, I think, minus a handful of compilation appearances.

THE LAUGHING APPLE - THE HA HA HEE HEE! E.P. 7" (AUTONOMY RECORDS [AUT.001], 1981) [UK]

The Laughing Apple - The Ha Ha Hee Hee E.P. 7"
(Autonomy Records [AUT.001], 1981) [UK]

The first 7" from UK's The Laughing Apple, an early Alan McGee (co-founder of Creation Records) group that existed only for a couple of years in the early 80s. Four indie pop / mod sounding tracks.
