A split 7" single from two east coast indie rock groups: Tsunami (VA) &Velocity Girl (MD). Released in 1992 as the 39th installment and part of Sub Pop Singles Club series, this was JAN 1992.
The first proper release from English indie pop group The Morrisons. Self-Released of 1,000 copies: Sold mainly via mail order, it was also issued with the fanzine 'Especially Yellow' (Issue 8 - Spring 1987).
A 7" single from Japanese indie pop / shibuya-kei group Oh! Penelope -- released in 2017 -- despite featuring two earlier tracks recorded and previously released in the 90s.
A 12" single from Cale Parks (who previously had played in some rock/emo bands that I enjoyed: Joan of Arc and Aloha) but now makes downtempo electronic music that's pretty good too! This one stuck out to me, because on the B-Side his song is remixed by the French electronic outfit Paradis that are exceptional, as well! Who I'll be sharing soon..
A 7" single release from English artist Duffy(Stephen Duffy).Released in 1995. I don't know much about this artist other than he was a founding member and had left Depeche Mode prior to the 80s!
An English electronic group, Candy Flip ("candy flip" is a reference to a slang term used to describe the act of taking ecstasy and LSD together.) Best known for this single, a dance remix of The Beatles' hit song Strawberry Fields Forever. Released in 1990, deep in the madchester scene.
A 7" single release from Simon Fisher Turner, a.k.a. The King of Luxembourg, released between Él Records and Cherry Red Records in 1987. Two nice neo-acoustic tracks and a lovely instrumental on the B-Side.
Another group I know absolutely nothing about. As far as I can figure, The Collectors, are from the northeast of England from the 90s. Other than that, I couldn't tell you much! I do enjoy this almost shoegazey? 7" single from them, released in 1993 on Citizen Records.
I know nothing about this group, except that this is an excellent 7" single! Two People, is a sophistipop group from England, with a single released on Polydor in 1985.
Former Raincoats members and Red Crayola collaborators formed Dorothy (a duo despite their singular name), to release a series of dance influenced 12 inches. This one comes from 1988 on the label Blue Guitar. A Prince cover song on the A-Side.
