Another single from Urusei Yatsura, the first I ever heard of them. So, glad I picked it up at the store on a whim based on the Japanese sounding name.
Nice little single-sided 7" here from München, Germany's The Bartlebees on US label Farce Recordings from 1993. I especially like the B-side, a cover of The Who.
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Self Titled CDEP
(Fortuna Pop! [FPOP83B], 2009) [US]
A limited CDEP from NYC's The Pains of Being Pure at Heart that was only available when you got the self titled album through Rough Trade. 2009. No 'exclusive' songs here.
The only release from this Dutch stoner rock group, Twin Earth, except for a couple of comp tracks. Nice psych feel. On Holland based label Lada. Plus, I really hope the title has something to do with the film Trancers -- probably not though.
Not much I can add about Sleep. This is the first single from the California band on Off The Disk Records out of Switzerland with a cool cover of Black Sabbath and two earlier version of Sleep songs. Stoner Metal bands list top three influences as 1. Black Sabbath 2. Black Sabbath 3. Black Sabbath.
Two great pop punk songs from each band, Discount from Florida and J Church from California, on this split 7" release from Liquid Meat in 1996. I'm in love with the J Church song which is expresses my similar feelings of admiration towards Faye Wong.
Here's the 12" version of Edinburgh, Scotland's The Fizzbombs The Surfin' Winter E.P. which has two more songs than the 7" version (including a snazzy Neil Diamond cover). Fizzy and noisy.
Sydney, Australia's indie pop group The Cannanes had a ton of releases on a whole slew of labels throughout the late 80s and early 90s. This 7" here is from the UK label Bi-Joopiter from 1992.
