Honestly, the only Chilean indie pop band that I know of (an I am sure there are more! I'd like to hear them as well). But, I had to check out this band with the name 'La casa de Emma' [Spanish: Emma's House], and the obvious reference to twee-greats The Field Mice. This tape did not disappoint! I love the track Cajita Musical.

I've loved this 7" single release from Best Coast ever since I saw the music video on YouTube probably in 2009 when it came out. The video features footage of the French film "Un homme et une femme" [A Man and a Woman] starring Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant. I had just seen the film and felt the music fit well with the sentimental dreaminess of the film.

A 7" single release from Swedish indie pop group Mary-Go-Round. Swedish indie pop is so good! So many stellar bands -- this is one of the lesser known ones, but does not make it any lesser, this 7" infact slays. I only wish they sung more in the original Swedish language -- but they all have such an impressive grasp of English it makes sense for broad appeal. These songs sound as if they could have been huge radio hits, to me.

Aventuras de Kirlian is a Spanish indie pop band from San Sebastián (Gipuzkoa, Basque Country) from 1985 to 1989. They became Le Mans in the 1990s. This is their sole LP release, if you could call it a long-player more like a mini-album, clocking in just over 17 minutes long. Kind of the start of all Spanish indie pop.

Cathy Claret is a little bit French, a little bit Spanish, and a little bit gypsy, a chanteuse based in Barcelona. Her music has become a blend of different sounds: pop-music, bossanova, flamenco guitars, rumba, toy instruments… The A-Side here is sung in French and the B-Side is in Spanish. I had ordered some records from a seller on Discogs, and they had thrown this 7" in as a freebie. Glad they did!

A band I really know nothing about and I cannot find any information on the internet, really. I downloaded this six song EP? Demo? when it came out initially in 2010 and have played the hell out of it ever since. I wish I could find some more information on the band! Did they change their name? Call it quits? All I have found have been these two live videos on YouTube that were uploaded approximately 13 years ago and each has under 150 views. So, I do know in fact that the band did exist! These songs rip, though, in the vein of Jesus & Mary Chain. Anyone got any more information they could share about the band?

Originally released on a bunch of single CDRs from 2013-2016 and compiled on a compilation CD in 2017 by Indonesian label Rizkan Records [RR29]. The collection was re-released by USA label Jigsaw [PZL198] in 2022.
