Felt - Ballad Of The Band 12"
(Creation Records [CRE 027T], 1986) [UK]

One of my absolute favorite 12" EPs is this Felt release from Creation Records from 1986. Four perfect songs!

The first album from this Scottish indie group, Close Lobsters, released here on Enigma Records from 1987.

EVERGREEN - SEVEN SONGS LP (ANOMALY [ANOM 004], WHALEBOY [WB 001], 1994) [US]

Evergreen - Seven Songs LP
(Anomaly [ANOM 004], Whaleboy [WB 001], 1994) [US]

The only LP of Evergreen's is this untitled seven song album released on Anomaly and Whaleboy Records from 1994. I really like this band!

EVERGREEN & STILL LIFE - SPLIT E.P. 7" (ANOMALY [ANOM 001], 1993) [US]

Evergreen & Still Life - Split E.P. 7"
(Anomaly [ANOM 001], 1993) [US]

Probably my two favorite Evergreen songs on this split with Still Life between two California bands. Trying their best to have a Sarah Records-esque cover -- the music is total 90s indie rock/emo.

EVERGREEN - SELF TITLED 7" (WRENCHED RECORDS [WR-003], 1994) [US]

Evergreen - Self Titled 7"
(Wrenched Records [WR-003], 1994) [US]

The second EP from California's Evergreen released on Wrenched Records from 1994. One of the handful of emo bands I still enjoy and listen to from high school, I feel like. Basically, great lo-fi indie rock. I remember the cover I had of this 7" was a little different, the image of the legs was in gold foil ink.

THE WAKE - CRUSH THE FLOWERS 7" (SARAH RECORDS [SARAH 21], 1989) [SCOT]

The Wake - Crush The Flowers 7"
(Sarah Records [SARAH 21], 1989) [SCOT]

The Wake's first release on Sarah Records comes as this 7" EP from 1989 from the Glasgow, Scotland band. The band changed their sound up a little bit from the post-punk sound of the early 80s on Factory Records, to the more indie pop sound here on this record -- which is just perfect pop!

JOHNNY DEE - MOTORBIKE LOVES YOU... EP 7" (VINYL JAPAN [PAD 05], 1993) [JP]

Johnny Dee - Motorbike Loves You... EP 7"
(Vinyl Japan [PAD 05], 1993) [JP]

One of my favorite releases... ever! This three song 7" EP from Japan's Johnny Dee is the perfect mix of English Sarah Records indie pop and Japanese shibuya-kei pop. Perfect sounding, I'm in love with the second song. Released 1993 on Vinyl Japan.

THE POPGUNS & HOW MANY BEANS MAKE 5 - SPLIT 7" FLEXI (LA-DI-DA PRODUCTIONS [LA-DI-DA 001], 1988) [UK]

The Popguns & How Many Beans Make 5 - Split 7" Flexi
(La-Di-Da Productions [La-Di-Da 001], 1988) [UK]

A split 7" flexi-disc between Brighton, England's The Popguns, and UK group How Many Beans Make 5 (how's that for a name?). Released 1988 on La-Di-Da Productions.

THE POPGUNS - LANDSLIDE 12" (MEDIUM COOL [MC 19(T)], 1989) [UK]

The Popguns - Landslide 12"
(Medium Cool [MC 19(T)], 1989) [UK]

Hip indie pop 12" single on Medium Cool records from Brighton, England's The Popguns. Released 1989. Four tracks, but the 4th is just a repeat of the A-side, though it's not mentioned anywhere on the sleeve or label.

SUPERSTAR & PONY BOY CURTIS - SPLIT 7" (JIVE TURKEY, 1997) [US]

Superstar & Pony Boy Curtis - Split 7"
(Jive Turkey, 1997) [US]

An obscure split 7" record between emo groups Superstar and Pony Boy Curtis. The only proper release from each band. Also, this is not the Superstar from the UK that was ex-BMX Bandits. I did find an unreleased LP from Superstar on the internet that is pretty great. I don't know much about either band except they were both around in the mid-90s, both groups share someone named "Kip", and that I found this record for $1.00usd over ten years ago in the used bin.

The first 7" single from the prolific US lo-fi group The Magnetic Fields. Released on Harriet Records from 1991.

14 ICED BEARS - COME GET ME 7" (SARAH RECORDS [SARAH 5], 1988) [UK]

14 Iced Bears - Come Get Me 7"
(Sarah Records [SARAH 5], 1988) [UK]

14 Iced Bears only released on Sarah Records (other than compilations, I believe) is this fantastic 7" here. Three great songs.
