Buck Owens - Act Naturally / Over and Over Again 7"
(Capitol Records – [4937], 1963) [USA]
A 7" single from country musician Buck Owens with a song I really love 'Act Naturally'. I originally heard it performed by The Beatles, but when I heard Buck's version -- that's the definitive version for me!
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Gothenburg Handshake (Demo)
(Painbow Records, 2015) [USA]
A demo version of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart song 'Gothenburg Handshake'. I believe it originally came out in 2009 on the Japanese release of their debut album, but the band later re-released it as a mp3 single in 2015. I love how Japanese releases of albums/CDs almost always include exclusive bonus tracks!
A lo-fi Spanish 7" compilation featuring five groups from Spain. Released on Spanish label Elefant Records in 1997. Also, released in collaboration of Spanish fanzine from Galicia "Vibraciones Pop".
A 7" single by Washington, DC indie group The Ropers, released on Oakland label Slumberland from 1995. I particularly like the B-Side that is a cover of the 60s song 'Transparent Day' originally by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.
The only proper release from California emo group, Driftwood. They also have one song that appears on a 2xLP compilation 'In Memory of Jason', also released by Monopoly Records in memoriam of the label founder who tragically died. Bringing their total tracks released to five songs.
Only a handful of releases from pioneer Florida emo group, Don Martin 3, this is their 7" with two tracks released in 1995 on small-time Florida label Oberon Records.
The only proper release, I believe other than some cassette compilation tracks, by French indie pop group Daisy Age. Released in 1994 on the tiny French label, Disco 2000.
The only proper release, I believe other than some compilation tracks, by Japanese indie group Flower Bellcow. Released on August 12th, 1999 on Japanese label Galaxy Train.
"In 1982, Strawberry Switchblade were Jill Bryson, Janice Goodlett, Carole McGowan and Rose McDowall. This is the only recording of the original line up, recorded at the HellfireClub, Glasgow, 1982." Later released as a 7" single in 2017.
A split 7" between Swedish indie pop group Red Sleeping Beauty and Minnesota group Benito [featuring Jim Ruiz] released in 1995. I love the lo-fi acoustic song from Benito about rather choosing to live life out in Ferrol, Spain.
This is what I believe the 7th full length album released by Japanese duo Salon Music from 1995. And maybe it's their best one? Surprisingly so, I usually lose interest when a band releases so many albums -- but Salon Music only seem to get better and better!
