Another rather obscure English indie pop group, Shine!, with a Flexi-Disc release from 1989 on Baz McHat Records. Nice C86/Jangle Pop sound. Two catchy tunes that probably deserved a lot more play than they ever properly received!

The third release in Allied Recordings 'Emergency Broadcast Systems' compilation series, of which there were a total of four compilation released in the series. This 7" features four American bands ranging from Pop Punk to Emo. This release also might have Evergreen's best song on this single.

I'm not sure this is the actual 'debut' from London-based group, Stereolab, with a French singer, despite it having debut in its title. They had a number of single releases in 1991 and I'm unsure which one came out first. Released on the bands' home label, Duophonic Super 45s. Awesome single and a piece of history!

A single by the notorious grunge group Pearl Jam with two non-album tracks, and one of their best songs "I Got Id." I believe both of these songs feature Neil Young on guitar, which is pretty wild! This is around the time members of Pearl Jam had also played on Neil's album "Mirror Ball" also from the same year, 1995.

My brother recently came and visited me, and while we were driving around I put on my reggae/dub mix in the car -- and this song really stuck out to him -- because he kept asking me to replay 'Limb by Limb' by Cutty Ranks almost every time we got into the car. I love the Original Ragga Mix the most. "Duck a dill, dill, dill..."

I believe this was a digital release only, but it's four cover songs of Hrishikesh Hirway, a.k.a The One AM Radio, Recorded at home, December 2002, in Los Angeles, CA. I used to listen to this all the time in 2003, and only recently re-found it, and absolutely adore anything by The One AM Radio. So delicate and sweet.

Quite possibly my favorite Beat Happening song on this 7" single released in 1991 on Bi-Joopiter, a small-time English record label. The B-Side "Knock on Any Door" is great and so so morose. I've included the music video for the song, that originally appeared on the "Dead Eye" VHS compilation featuring a ton of other cool bands, as well as Beat Happening.
